Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 2026

1. General Platform Terms

By using the "Lost & Found" and other categories, you agree that NodeHood is only a platform for community information and a facilitator (Connector) between neighbors. NodeHood does not have an internal payment system, digital wallet, or financial gateway. All transactions and rewards (Zakcentje) are handled exclusively Peer-to-Peer (P2P) outside the application. For your safety:

NodeHood is not responsible for any lost items, personal disputes, or interactions between users.

2. Eligibility and Age Verification

According to international laws and GDPR requirements, the user must be at least 18 years of age. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this age requirement. You are solely responsible for all activities performed through your account.

3. Legal Disclaimer and Prohibited Services

NodeHood has no control over the quality, safety, or legality of advertisements or services offered by users. Performing any services related to the main electrical grid, gas infrastructure, plumbing, or similar matters that require an official engineering certificate is strictly prohibited through NodeHood. NodeHood has no responsibility for accidents during work, bodily injury, or physical damage to property. All responsibility rests directly with the parties involved. We do not perform criminal background checks on users.

4. Insurance Policy

NodeHood does not provide any insurance coverage for users or their property. It is strongly recommended that users have personal liability insurance, such as WA-verzekering in Europe. Any damage caused to third parties or their property must be compensated by the user's personal insurance or by mutual agreement between the parties.

5. Taxation and Employment

NodeHood is a facilitator and does not have an employment relationship with users. NodeHood is not responsible for reporting user earnings to tax authorities (Belastingdienst). Users are exclusively responsible for calculating and paying any income tax or duties arising from amounts received from neighbors according to the laws of their country of residence.

6. Data Controller and Privacy (GDPR/AVG Compliance)

NodeHood acts as the Data Controller for the personal data processed through the app.

7. User Rights and Account Deletion

Under the GDPR (AVG), you have the right to access, correct inaccurate data, or request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.

8. Location Data

NodeHood collects and processes your location data solely to calculate distances between users and display relevant local advertisements. To protect your privacy, we do not share your precise coordinates with other users; only approximate distances are displayed. This data is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

9. Cookies and Local Storage

NodeHood uses cookies and local storage to secure user sessions and store preferences (e.g., language settings). These are essential technical requirements for the safe and proper functioning of the app. By using NodeHood, you consent to this essential data storage.

10. Intellectual Property

The NodeHood name, logo, UI/UX design, and all source codes are protected under international copyright laws. Any cloning, reverse engineering, or unauthorized use of our API will result in immediate legal prosecution.

11. User Content and Monitoring

We have a zero-tolerance policy against fraudulent, immoral, or illegal advertisements. Reported content is reviewed by our team and removed within 24 hours. Users violating these terms will be permanently blocked.

12. Subscription Model

NodeHood is currently free for all neighbors. We reserve the right to introduce a subscription model or service fees with a 30-day prior notice to all users.
